Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 13 October 2026.

Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club aims to make www.plymouthsfdbc.com accessible and easy to use for as many people as possible. We are reviewing the website and working to improve its accessibility. If you have difficulty accessing any information, please contact us so we can help.
What web accessibility is
Web accessibility means making a website usable by people with a range of disabilities and access needs, including those who use screen readers, keyboard navigation or other assistive technology.
Improving website accessibility
We are reviewing the website’s navigation, headings, text readability, image descriptions and use on mobile devices.
We have not completed a full accessibility assessment, so we cannot yet confirm that the website meets WCAG Level AA. Some areas may still need improvement.
Utilized accessibility tools to identify and rectify potential issues
Set the blog's language to English
Organized content for optimal navigation
Established a clear heading structure for all posts
Included alternative text for all images
Chosen color palettes that meet contrast standards
Minimized motion effects across the site
Ensured multimedia content is accessible
Known limitations and third-party content
The mobile navigation menu currently has a scrolling issue: when the About submenu is expanded, some links lower down may be difficult to reach. We are working to resolve this.

The website also includes third-party content, such as maps, embedded videos and external links. These may have accessibility or browser limitations. If you cannot use this content or find the information you need, please contact the club for help.
Accessibility when visiting the club
If you have access requirements and would like to visit Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club, please contact us before your visit. We can discuss your needs and provide information about access to the green and clubhouse.
